Luis is a partner in Litigation and Arbitration at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo. He has extensive experience in litigation and arbitration, particularly advising clients on civil and commercial disputes related to banking, construction, energy, corporate law, agency and distribution contracts, and public and investment international law.
Additionally, Luis has significant experience in national and international commercial and investment arbitrations, both institutional and ad hoc. Internationally, he has participated in arbitrations before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Court of Arbitration, the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), and the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce. In Spain, Luis has participated in arbitrations before various institutions such as the Madrid Chamber of Commerce Arbitration Court, the Spanish Court of Arbitration (CEA), and the Civil and Commercial Court of Arbitration (CIMA). He also has experience in annulment, recognition, and enforcement of arbitral awards.
He holds a law degree from the Autonomous University of Madrid. He completed a Master’s in Business Legal Advice at Instituto de Empresa (IE) and an Executive Master’s in Advanced Legal Skills and Civil Litigation Practice at the Higher Institute of Law and Economics (ISDE). Additionally, he is a Financial Markets Technician from the Institute of Stock Exchange Studies (IEB).
Between January and October 2023, Luis completed a secondment at the Miami office of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan.
Luis has contributed as an author to several specialized legal publications and collaborates as a lecturer at various prestigious institutions such as the University of Navarra (UNAV), the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM), and Instituto de Empresa (IE).
